The base of the tail was the last area to suffer from itching, redness and hair loss in our 5-year old female westie. In the photo it is actually in much better condition (new hair growth) than it was 2 weeks ago.

glad that a change in her diet is helping. I remember my cousin’s dog couldn’t eat regular dog food, he had to be fed brown rice and veggie, so we would "make" his food, kinda looked like mush.

- westies are known for their skin problems but I wasn’t expecting it to be so serious. In the beginning the breeder told us what food to feed her, but when these problems started popping up and I did the research, I come to find out that corn or wheat-based foods are the worst to give dogs anyway! I was like WT*??? Even our vet pissed me off because he said there is corn in all dog food which I found out to be FALSE. Makes me think they all in cahoots to just keep their livelihood by not promoting a proper diet, only medications galore, hence sick dogs going in and we get charged up the ying yang.

eep! the corn has invaded EVERYTHING! not only the human "food".

though you have to pay $$ it is nice that you were able to find something that she can eat that will help her skin and insides, would hate it if you had to make all her food yourself.

as if you didn’t have other stuffs to worry about. hang in there!
